Your 2025-26 McKinney North Lady Bulldogs team recently competed in the John Turner Classic volleyball tournament in Pearland, just south of Houston.  One of the largest school team tournaments in the county, the John Turner Classic invites the top varsity teams from the across the state to participate.  The Lady Bulldogs finished with an 8-1 record across three days, losing to only one opponent and earning 5th place out of a field of 53.  It was a tremendous showing.  Also noteworthy: senior middle blocker Chloe Lewis was named on the All Tournament team.  Congratulations, Chloe!  (And if you're wondering, Flour Bluff Corpus Christi, the team that narrowly beat McKinney North in the state finals last fall, finished the tournament in 30th place.)

​On August 20, senior libero Gabi Rodriguez was welcomed home after spending the first week of the MISD school year traveling to Surabaya, Indonesia as a member of the U.S. Girls Under-19 National Team. Teams from 24 countries all over the world participated in the 2025 FIVB Women’s U21 World Championship (a scheduling quirk put the American U19 in the same tournament as U21 teams). The U19 team ended up with a 7-2 overall record, ending their appearance with a 3-0 defeat of Czechia and ninth place overall.  Gabi's U19 team also beat Mexico, Croatia twice, Bulgaria, and Puerto Rico.  An incredible success.
